Digital Archiving Policy

Journal of Geographic Education and Studies (JGES) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, integrity, and continued accessibility of all published scholarly content. The journal supports reliable digital preservation practices to safeguard the scholarly record and facilitate continued access to published research in geography, geographic education, environmental studies, spatial studies, and related disciplines.

PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)

The journal supports digital preservation through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a digital preservation service developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP) for journals using Open Journal Systems (OJS).

The preservation system is designed to maintain copies of journal content across distributed preservation infrastructure, helping protect the scholarly record against potential data loss, technical failures, or disruption to the journal's primary website or hosting environment.

The journal is committed to maintaining appropriate preservation arrangements so that published articles can remain accessible and identifiable as part of the permanent scholarly record.

Self-Archiving Policy

Journal of Geographic Education and Studies (JGES) supports the broad dissemination of scholarly research and permits authors to archive and share their published work through appropriate personal, institutional, and academic repositories.

Authors are permitted to:

• Deposit the published version (Version of Record) of their article in a personal or institutional repository.
• Share the published article through personal websites, institutional repositories, academic networks, and other lawful scholarly platforms.
• Share the published article link freely with colleagues, researchers, students, and other interested users.
• Use the published article for teaching, research, educational, and other legitimate scholarly purposes.

Conditions for Self-Archiving

• Proper bibliographic citation of the original publication in Journal of Geographic Education and Studies (JGES) must be provided.
• Where possible, a link to the final published article on the official journal website should be included.
• The published version should not be altered in a manner that could misrepresent the Version of Record.
• The journal's copyright and licensing terms must be respected.
• Any repository copy should clearly identify the journal as the original publication venue.

Self-archiving of the published Version of Record is permitted immediately after publication, with no embargo period, subject to the journal's copyright and licensing terms.
